There Are No Shortcuts

Dominion Mandate teaching session on discipline and consistency

This morning I got to the gym at 6:15am, and something felt different. Usually, there are maybe 20–30 people there at that time. Today? More like 50 or 60.

I paused and thought… what's changed? Then it hit me. The sun came out.

Summer is approaching, and suddenly everyone wants results. Everyone wants to get in shape quickly. Everyone wants the outcome — fast. But those who have been showing up in the cold mornings, through the dark months, with discipline and consistency… they're already ready.

The Popcorn Culture Problem

And that made me think about fulfilling mandate. We live in a popcorn culture — fast, instant, now. People want quick wins, rapid success, overnight millions. They want possession without process. But God does not work like that. God doesn't do shortcuts — He accelerates, but even acceleration follows a season of preparation.

He is a God of process, pruning, preparation, and stewardship. Yes, He can accelerate. Yes, He can open doors suddenly. Yes, favour can move faster than strategy. But even divine acceleration is usually preceded by hidden preparation.

Joseph had the palace, but first there was the pit and the prison. David had the throne, but first there was the field and the wilderness. Jesus had the ministry, but first there were years of preparation.

Acceleration is not skipping steps — it is God redeeming time after faithfulness. The Dominion Mandate teaches us that to fulfil purpose in the marketplace, to have impact and to give God glory… there are no shortcuts.

Built in the Unseen Moments

You might get quick results, but the question is: can you sustain them? Because sustainable success — whether in fitness, leadership, business, or life — is built in the unseen moments:

  • The early mornings.
  • The disciplined choices.
  • The private prayers.
  • The consistent obedience when nobody is clapping.

Proverbs 14:23 (NKJV) says: "In all labor there is profit, but idle chatter leads only to poverty." And Psalm 128:2 reminds us: "When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you."

So remember: labour yields return, discipline creates freedom, consistency builds sustainability, and stewardship positions you for possession.

Keep showing up, keep building, keep praying, keep labouring, keep trusting God. Because when your season arrives — and it will — you'll be prepared.
